Which Certification should I pursue?

With so many different opportunities to serve within our parish and diocese communities, combined with busy personal schedules, it can be difficult to know which area(s) we should take the time to dive deeper. The first step, as always is to take time in prayer and discern where you are and where you would like to go in your ministerial journey. Speaking with your supervisor or pastor can also help you discern where to start in the certification process. Once you have done this, look at the certification opportunities below and click on the appropriate link to get started! Parish Staff / Lay Ecclesial Ministers (LEM): This certification is for those already working on a parish staff, wish to work on a parish staff in the future, as well as key parish volunteers.

Accompaniment Ministry:  This certification is for parish members who serve in the many ministries that walk with our neighbors through their personal faith journey. Accompaniment Ministers walk with others aiding in the deeper growth of their relationship with Christ.

Council Members (both Parish and Finance):
This certification is for those who currently serve as well as those wishing to serve in the future on the Parish Council or on the Parish Finance Council. This certifications aids volunteers in fully understanding the roles and responsibilities asked of council members.

Catechist: This certification is for those who currently serve as well as those wishing to serve in the future as a catechist for any age group. If you are called to live your life of a disciple by teaching the Catholic faith, this is the certification for you!

Liturgical Ministries: This certification is for all staff members and volunteers who currently serve or wish to serve in the future in any of the liturgical ministries. Liturgical Minsters serve in a variety of ways including (but not limited to); Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Sacristan, Music Ministry.

Community, Organization, Group Leaders:  This certification is for those who are in a leadership position running a small group, a Catholic organization, or a Catholic community.
